About me

Hi, I’m Katie. I’m a journalist, editor and content expert who specialises in all things HR, management and work-related. Like many HR professionals, I ‘fell into’ specialising in HR (far) more than a decade ago, working on the CIPD’s People Management and HR magazine in various editorial roles, including as editor of HR magazine. 

I’m fascinated by what makes people tick at work, how the world of work is changing and how leaders and organisations make a difference to people’s lives.

In my career, I’ve also edited other business titles, including Supply Management for the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). I’ve written too many features, research reports and whitepapers to count and produced and hosted podcasts and webinars.

And I’ve crossed over to the other side, spending five years with the CIPD, building their senior leader proposition and running a network for chief people officers. This gave me a deep insight into the areas that really matter to senior people and culture leaders as well as strengthening my network. 

Alongside writing and editorial work, I am an experienced event host, having facilitated a huge range of sessions, from intimate leader roundtable dinners to panel sessions, from conferences to live webinars. I have interviewed celebrities including Katherine Ryan, Sue Perkins and Davina McCall in engaging ‘fireside’ chats in front of thousands of people.
